Sunday Snapshot: {loving creation with the fam}

10.10.10

Beautiful, beautiful day today. Worthy of lots and lots of pictures. And, I’ve got loads of them.

As a Christmas present to my dad last year (yes, last year), we gave him tickets to go to Longwood Gardens with us. We tried once to go over the summer, but it was 300 degrees out so we decided to go to P.F. Changs instead. We rescheduled for today, literally the most perfect fall day to walk around outside and enjoy sheer beautiful images of creation.

Evan sorta nailed it on the head this morning when he told me something like this: “Whenever we go to Longwood Gardens, I want to play something like Indiana Jones. But, I just want to take my time. It’s all so beautiful.” Pretty profound for an 8 year old boy–an 8 year old boy who then brought a notebook and pencil for “research” and note taking of all the beautiful things he could find.

My scientist in the making and some of his cool finds below.

Some other snapshots from the day…

 Nanma and Granddaddy
Evan taking more notes…so cute

our own queen bees

And, a few last pics of Lydia just because I love this headband and had to take some pics with it today. How could I resist? Look at her total cuteness?

Of course, I have to tell you that you can buy this sweet headband at Jiayin Designs — they are handmade and are so cool! Check them out here. I love them despite my husband’s remarks about them being too big or too girly or whatever he says…clearly, I’m blocking the comments out.

    Um, HELLO! Shouldn’t Grace have gotten to keep that one, since she is modeling it so beautifully??? You didn’t tell me about that! So cute! And Mark, there is no such thing as “too girly” on a girl! Glad you enjoyed the Longwood with your parents! We love it there!

    I love the headband that Lydia is wearing. Does it stay on well? Do you have different colors if I want more than one?

    I have a Lydia, too, and we usually make an annual trip to Garvin Woodland Gardens in the spring, but your pictures make me think we need to go this fall.

Hello

I overthink everything. This blog is a prime example. Make yourself a cup of coffee and sit down for a read. Actually, make that a pot of coffee. There’s a lot of overthinking here.
