more fabric and wishes for the yoyo quilt!
I got 2 packages this week for Lydia’s yoyo quilt! I’m so excited! I need a ton more. But, I’ve got a good start.
First, I got a really pretty and super soft floral pattern from my friend Erika. Erika and I went to college together and were sorority sisters. She’s the coolest gal–many of you have heard me brag about her since she had three babies in one calendar year. Yup, that’s right. When her first baby was less than 2 months old, she got prego with twins. Insane. I still remember the phone call she made to me to tell me she was pregnant. I was floored. She called back about a week later to tell me it was twins. I was really floored. The fabric is so sweet, particularly because it is from her little girl’s crib sheet. Love that. Check out Erika’s blog and see all her little munchkins here
The second package I got was from a new email friend Jonni. She emailed me back in May as she was waiting for the referral of her second child from China. She was frustrated because the special needs shared listing had come out the day before and she had not been matched as she had hoped. I suggested to her to have her agency check the listing the next morning because I suspected that files would be unlocked which had been locked the day before. She did just that and was matched with the most beautiful little girl who they have named Samantha! Go to her blog here and sneak a peek at both her gorgeous little China dolls. Look how cute the fabric is she sent too–little China girls on it!
Hope this post inspires some of you to contribute to the quilt who haven’t yet! I need…only about 70 more. I might get to the point that I beg people on the street to contribute. That wouldn’t be good.

freeing the frog

The tadpole/frog that I featured not long ago on the blog met its demise…I think. In a matter of hours, its tail was gone. The next morning, I got the kids all ready to take down to the canal to free to the great yonder…but, we couldn’t find it. I guess it jumped out of the bowl. Who knows where it ended it up…or where I may find it eventually. So, when I noticed today that another tadpole was just about tail-less, we wasted no time. Off to St. Peter’s Village we went to the boulders to free it. The kids enjoyed jumping from boulder to boulder and looking for other creatures.
