Thursday’s Things to Pray For

9.9.10

  1. Praise for a good weekend at Young Life’s Lake Champion! The kids had a ball, and even though I was working there some, we still really enjoyed it. Mark led a Bible Study both Saturday and Sunday mornings about our identity in Christ. He did an amazing job, and I’m so proud of Him.
  2. More about Mark — tomorrow is his birthday! Pray for him to experience joy tomorrow as he considers how God has blessed him and has equipped him for that which He has called him to do.
  3. Pray for all of us — we are now in full swing. Drew started preschool yesterday (3 days a week). My church women’s Bible Study started yesterday morning. My CBS (Community Bible Study) group starts next Tuesday. Swimming lessons started yesterday. And, Ashlyn’s Chinese class starts this weekend. Geez! Just writing all that out makes me a little tired! Pray that we can figure out how to balance it all while not being slaves to the schedule! I want to step back and still be able to have some fun!

Thursday’s Things to Pray For

9.2.10

  1. Praise for answered prayer for Evan! The transition has gone very well so far. He seems to really be liking 3rd grade! (all 2 days of it. He had to stay home today sick…couldn’t believe it. But, he was genuinely sad to stay home!)
  2. Praise for more answered prayer! He’s been with me in a real way this week. Though the first day was a little sad for me, I have felt at peace and am feeling encouraged about this fall and what He has in store for each one of us.
  3. Pray for this weekend. We are headed up to Young Life’s Lake Champion for family camp! Not only do our kids look forward to this time nearly year round, it’s a fun time for us too (Mark and I met there back in 1997). Pray for Evan to be 100% tomorrow for us leaving and for safety for all of us and for the families we are bringing with us. May He be glorified in a mighty way this weekend and open the hearts of people to see Him maybe for the first time.

Thursday’s Things to Pray For

8.26.10

All prayers about school today….We have today and tomorrow and the weekend, then school starts on Monday. (sigh)

  1. Pray for Evan. Changes aren’t easy for him. Transitioning back to school will be hard for him. And, not only will he have a new general education teacher, he will have a new learning support teacher this year too. Pray that he has peace about all of that and feels God’s presence with him on the first day of school.
  2. Pray for Ashlyn. She’s going to a new school this year since she’s starting 1st grade. We go today for orientation and meeting her teacher. Pray that she connects well socially from the get go and finds some girls she can hang with. Pray that she lives out God’s love to the other kids.
  3. Pray for me as I have to let the kids go again. It’s always a bit emotional for me as school starts up again. Pray that I would feel encouraged about our time together over the summer and that He would assure me that He has our precious children in His hands.

Pray for me, for these things I list. And, leave me a comment to let me know you did if you don’t mind. It would be a great encouragement. And, I invite you to do the same on your blog.

Thursday’s Things to Pray For

8.12.10

  1. Pray for patience in dealing with the kids daily and for a servant’s heart while I’m doing that. I hate when I find myself being short with them.
  2. Pray for Mark and I to find time to connect as a couple. Haven’t done much of that lately.
  3. Pray for God to use the We Are Grafted In site for His purposes. We’re excited about it and are praying that it serves as a real encouragement for families.

Pray for me, for these things I list. And, leave me a comment to let me know you did if you don’t mind. It would be a great encouragement. And, I invite you to do the same on your blog.

Hello

I overthink everything. This blog is a prime example. Make yourself a cup of coffee and sit down for a read. Actually, make that a pot of coffee. There’s a lot of overthinking here.
