Barefoot Books for The Sparrow Fund {Giveaway}

5.8.13

Have you discovered Barefoot Books yet? We’re big fans. Barefoot Books is a multicultural publisher of childrens’ books, offering timeless stories from around the world with stunning illustrations for kids of all ages. Their books give children the opportunity to explore other cultures, our planet, and themselves. These particular titles are ones we like, given our heart for China—Lin Yi’s Lantern, We’re Riding on a Caravan, Stories From the Silk Road, and Little Leap Forward. Check them out. I’ve heard great things about The Barefoot Books World Atlas too that actually has an app that goes along with it. Hoping to get our hands on that one—we have and like all the others. It would be a good little gift to us while Daddy’s in China this month, don’t you think?

My friend, Nicole Renee, just opened up shop to be a reseller for Barefoot Books and is partnering with us this month to Build the Nest, donating 10% of her May sales to The Sparrow Fund. AND, she’s giving away a $25 gift certificate here on the blog so that you can start your own Barefoot Books collection.

Head on over to her website to check out all of the great books there. And, as an added bonus, use the special code TWENTY13 for a one-time 20% off discount.

Ruffled Feathers for The Sparrow Fund {Giveaway}

5.6.13

13 years married today and mother of 3 boys, she indeed ruffled some feathers when she opened her little business to sew dresses, twirly skirts, and adorable little dolls. But, we’re glad she did.

Valerie is a treasured member of the Chinese adoptive community, not as an adoptive mother at this point, but as a major supporter and encourager…and seamstress of pretty things for many girlies from all over.

As one of our partners to Build the Nest for The Sparrow Fund this May, Valerie has committed to giving 10% of all her sales this month to support adoptive families through the work of The Sparrow Fund. So, head over to her site and order a few things, k?

Just to encourage you all to do that, Valerie’s giving away one of her precious Lydia Love dolls worth valued at $41 with shipping. So, enter and share about Ruffled Feathers and The Sparrow Fund and our efforts to Build the Nest! Giveaways are fun…winning is always fun…but spreading the word is the purpose. So, rally behind us and help us do that!

Red Letter Ink for The Sparrow Fund {Giveaway}

5.6.13

In the first red-letter Bible printed in 1901, the words “universally accepted as the utterances of our Lord and Saviour” were printed in red. Lous Klopsch, the man who championed this first printing way back then, remarked, “In the Red Letter Bible, more clearly than in any other edition of the Holy Scriptures, it becomes plain that from beginning to end, the central figure upon which all lines of law, history, poetry and prophecy converge is Jesus Christ, the Saviour of the world.”

And, that, my friends, is the heart behind Red Letter Ink, a little Etsy store dreamed up by my friend Aimee Libby whose art serves to point to the central figure of Jesus Christ. Aimee has been a great support to The Sparrow Fund and has a real love for adoption as she has watched her twin brother and his wife’s family be blessed through it.

Red Letter Ink is partnering with us again to Build the Nest this May, donating (at least, according to Aimee) 10% of all her May sales to The Sparrow Fund. And, just to help get some traffic here so folks can learn about what we’re doing, she’s offering THREE 8×10 prints of the winner’s choice (over a $60 value!).

Chesapeake Ribbons for The Sparrow Fund {Giveaway}

5.3.13

Photobucket

I remember the good ole days of corduroy O.P. shorts and terry cloth zippered outfits. Please tell me you do too.

Something’s coming back (thankfully, it’s not the bowl cut hairdo). Ribbon accessories—you know, the belts with whales or lobsters, headbands, key fobs, the works. So stinkin’ cute and classic.

Margie of Chesapeake Ribbons is a local Philadelphian who has figured out how to use her creativity and love for the classic accessory to give to what she’s passionate about–support autistic children and cancer research. And, this month, she’s helping The Sparrow Fund as one of our partners giving 10% of total sales this May to support adoptive families.
I’m thinking a certain little Chinese girl would look stinkin’ cute if I could convince her to wear this one. Boo to sensory issues.

Margie’s prices are super reasonable. So, whoever wins this $25 gift certificate is going to have some fun shopping around her store.

I love gift certificates.

Hello

I overthink everything. This blog is a prime example. Make yourself a cup of coffee and sit down for a read. Actually, make that a pot of coffee. There’s a lot of overthinking here.
