Drew’s love note

5.4.15

I took a basket of clean clothes into our room for folding when I found this on Daddy’s side of the bed.

A little love note.

From our 9 year old boy who is the most lovey 9 year old boy ever.

As if it wasn’t endearing enough to have him list “snuggle” as one of the things he wants to do with Daddy, he made a list of identifying traits of his father and right there sandwiched between “likes playing” and “likes ice cream” is “loves mommy.”

His most exciting moment

12.23.14

I am pretty sure his teacher intended him to write about an exciting moment of 2014. But, I don’t care because this is the cutest little essay he wrote.

This sweet little man is going to make some woman very happy one day. I hope that one day is a very long time from now though because I wanna keep him close for a long long time.

How to build a Lego Rocketman

9.29.14

This is how we spent our afternoon.

I am the videographer. Drew is everything else.

Anyone want to join us in a how-to series? I have a feeling I’m going to making more of these.

Drew’s Shamzee

4.8.13

Shamzee

Shamzee, his pillow eating friend

Yeah, you’re right. The last thing he needed (I needed?) is another stuffed animal. But, I knew he’d dig this one ’cause it isn’t a stuffed animal. It’s a pillow eater.

So, while my husband raised his eyebrows when Drew unwrapped this on his birthday, I defended it.

This silly shamzee has become the monster when Drew plays figures, the scary swallower of all lesser plastic beings. And, when he isn’t conquering the world of army men and wind-up robots, someone thinks he’s pretty comfy.

So there. I knew this gift would get some good mileage. And, now, somebody is asking for the bulldog version.

Maybe for Father’s Day, Mark.

Hello

I overthink everything. This blog is a prime example. Make yourself a cup of coffee and sit down for a read. Actually, make that a pot of coffee. There’s a lot of overthinking here.
