You remember years of Father’s Day pictures. I coordinated outfits, bribed kids to smile by using lollipops (and may or may not have given a few threats), took 100 pictures to try to get one that “worked.”

Today, I told everyone to sit, and I took a picture. That was it. And, that’s kind of life right now. There’s no perfect picture. Even our imperfect normal has been completely turned upside down. But, at the end of the day, I’m quite content with that, and I know you are too.

I’m so proud of you this Father’s Day. I know this isn’t easy. You are always so intentional in your efforts to be the dad God wants you to be. But, over these last few days, I have seen you poured out even more. And, I couldn’t be any more in love with you than I am right now as I watch you do it and join you in it. Watching you love our children well and coach them in loving this child well serves as a reminder of how glad I am that I am doing all this with you.

He has seen you as faithful and has appointed you to a great task for every season and in this season right now. I’m so thankful that He called me to serve our family with you.
