Girly Girl Bowtique for The Sparrow Fund

5.4.11

Girly Girl Bowtique

Kelly Winn’s one of those crafty mamas that I envy admire.

In 2003, when her first daughter was born. She looked over at her growing bow collection and thought, “Why am I buying bows? Surely I can make them!” There’s that craftiness kickin’ in. But, as I’ve learned and Kelly confirmed, good bows are much harder to make than she ever thought. But, she worked at it and perfected her new craft. Before long, she was selling bows from the back basket of her stroller as moms like me would stop and admire her girly girls’ bows.

Her stroller shop grew to an online store in 2006 when she taught herself some html coding (umm…yup, I envy admire her). By 2010, she had shipped bows to customers in all 50 states. Now, that’s pretty cool.

In 2008, Kelly’s heart was opened to orphans around the world. Their family began sponsoring a child at a foster home in China and sending bows for all the girls in their care. She started using Girly Girl Boutique for giveaways and fundraisers to help adoptive families, which is how I first found out about her shop. And, they have recently made the decision to grow their family through adoption as well (Yahoo!). She is selling key fobs to raise money for their own adoption as she continues with Girly Girl Boutique as her outreach.

Kelly told me—

It makes my heart sing to receive pictures in my inbox of beautiful girls wearing items my hands have created and sweet thank yous from moms. Most importantly, I love that I am able to earn funds with my hands that I can gift to others.

Go check out her clips, bows of all sizes and styles, soft baby headbands, hard ribbon and fabric covered headbands, hair flowers, doll headbands, ponytail streamers, and more! And, thank her for supporting The Sparrow Fund by giving 10% of all sales from girly girls around the world during the month of May.

Anna and Blue Paperie for The Sparrow Fund

5.3.11

Stefanie’s a stay-at-home mom of two girls in Austin, TX and the owner of anna and blue paperie, an online shop specializing in personalized prints for everyday events. After many requests from friends to make personalized paper goods for them, she was inspired to offer her products online.

In a day and age of emails and texting, there is something totally refreshing about personalized paper goods, don’t you think? They are modern and trendy and yet classic at the same time.

In the shop, you will find all sorts of printables, stationery, gift tags, labels, party decor and more. And, every item can be fully customized to suit your taste, event, or just because.

Stefanie has a heart for adoption and adoptive families. She told me about friends who had 3 biological children but always wanted to adopt. They took a leap and started fostering a sibling set of 3 little ones. And, they just learned that they are going to be able to adopt them. Three more children with a forever family! So great!

Please go visit Stefanie’s blog and her etsy shop. Thank her for her generosity in supporting adoptive families and The Sparrow Fund. And, while you are at it, order some super adorable goodies!

Hello

I overthink everything. This blog is a prime example. Make yourself a cup of coffee and sit down for a read. Actually, make that a pot of coffee. There’s a lot of overthinking here.
