{Purposeful Giveaway} Dandelion Dream & Stitched With Heart

11.30.11

It’s an adoption-fundraising-themed giveaway today. And, you know how I feel about supporting adoptive families. So, I’m pretty excited to introduce you to a couple today.

Erin. Super cute mama of 2 working her tail off to help bring #3 home from the Congo.

She’s got a handful of different fundraising efforts that she’s doing right now–go check out her blog to see all she’s doing. She’s got some incredible raffle baskets you can enter to win–please donate to enter them.

And, she’s got a not-so-little crafter business called Dandelion Dream. Isn’t that a dreamy name? Marketing totally sucks me in.

Carefully dyed
lino carved
hand stamped
tees

Most are organic 100%, from seed to shelf.

And, I’m totally in love with them.

One of each, please.

And, you know what Erin’s doing? Of course you do…she’s offering you a shirt of your choice from her Etsy store. You pick it. She’ll send it to you…if you are the winner, of course. Otherwise, you pick it. You click on “Add to Cart,” pay for it, and she’ll send it to you. :) And, you will have a super cool shirt and know that you helped bring a little girl home with your purchase.

Maybe one day I will be as cute as Erin. For now, I’ll settle for wearing one of her very cute tees.
AND

Desiree‘s the mama of 6 children…yes, 6. 3 of whom are from China. She advocates for waiting children, working hard to see them placed in families where they belong. Two or three years ago, she advocated for a special little boy. This past summer, they learned that he was still waiting, now 6 years old. But, he won’t be much longer. They started the process to bring this little man home.
And, she too is working hard to use her sewing skills to make the money needed to fund his adoption.

Aren’t these adorable?

She even makes matching headbands for them. Like this one.

Which is what she is offering as a giveaway today.
You lucky ladybugs.
She will customize the set for you to fit your little ladybug perfectly (12 mo.-size 6).

So, we’re going to have TWO winners today.
First winner takes home the Dandelion Dream tee of their dreams.
The second winner will fly away with the super adorable ladybug skirt and headband set from Stitched With Heart by Desiree.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

You don’t have to be a blog follower to enter. But, come on and follow along.

To enter, you need to leave TWO comments–
First, go on by Dandelion Dream and share your favorite design. Make sure you check them all out–they are so fun.

Second, visit Desiree’s blog and share your favorite fabric combination she’s currently using for her skirts. I love seeing what she pairs together!
__________________________________________________________
You have through Monday the 5th to enter.
I’ll choose 2 winners using random.org after that, 2 blessed winners.

Don’t forget to go visit Erin’s blog and donate a few dollars to enter the giveaway over there. The baskets she has put together are incredible. Just don’t win the one I’m trying to win, okay? :)

Why I Have Grey Hair

11.29.11

Some say grey hair is hereditary.

(my gorgeous mother, picture courtesy of my talented sister)
I’m thinking it has more to do with this one.
Who yesterday shoved a fruit snack up her nose. Which meant a frantic call to the pediatrician while she screamed in the background with an occasional “BOO BOO IN MY NOSE!,” another frantic call to a neighbor who is an ER nurse, another frantic call to my husband at work, and then another call back to the pediatrician after it appeared as if the fruit snack had melted and had now run right out of that left nostril, which led to a “No more boo boo, Mama. Happy now.”
At least she won’t do that again.
Or so I thought.
Turned around in the car today to find her with a veggie stick totally sticking out of her nose as she just smiled.

10 more grey hairs today than yesterday.

Hello

I overthink everything. This blog is a prime example. Make yourself a cup of coffee and sit down for a read. Actually, make that a pot of coffee. There’s a lot of overthinking here.
