Hair joy and sadness

10.29.10

Remember this shaved-head little baby?
Check it out, people! We reached a major hair milestone today.
Meet the pony tail.
Yes, it’s little. Yes, it sticks straight out. Yes, you can’t tell she has it in her hair at all from the front.
But, it is so darn cute.

Now, this one on the other hand.
This sweet girl broke my heart a little bit today.

She told me she doesn’t like bows anymore.
(Man, I look a lot different in this picture. Apparently, my hair has changed quite a bit over the years too.)
Alright, Lydia, we are celebrating your teeny tiny pony tail. But, let’s keep growing it. You got a lot of bows to grow into. (sniff sniff)

Oh how I remember that day too! My big girls always laugh and kid me that I made them wear them until they went to middle school… tried to anyway. :) Love the little pony tail… we have been putting one on top of Jing’s head. So sweet!!!
    Blessings!

Too cute! I remember the day I could finally get a pony tail in Breanna’s hair, too… poor girl was born practically bald, though you’d never guess that now! ;) Your bow drawer looks like ours. They grow too fast, don’t they!?! ;)

Lovin’ the ponytail!!! You go, girl!!
And what a pity that Ashlyn has declared it the year of no-more-bows. :( But she is the CUTEST thing even without the bows.

Isn’t it sad?!! Kaitlyn will only occasionally wear bows now. She wears a headband almost every day. I think I might attach some bows to the headband and make her lots of them with the big flowers on them. That’s her favorite right now. And Lydia’s pony tail is super cute!

OH, that’s not nice to do to a Mama!!!! :) I remember pulling out my braids on the bus on the way to school in 4th grade because I didn’t have the heart to tell my mom braids were for little girls! :)

As much as it annoys me that Chloe will ONLY wear dresses- oh, yes…ONLY dresses- I have a feeling when she insists that dresses are for little girls my heart might break in a million pieces!

YEs, I’m familiar. Allyson stopped going NEAR bows so very long ago. At least Ashlyn will still wear dresses. Ally loves jeans (old ones) sloppy shirts and black sneaks (hers have neon laces now). Oh! And don’t forget the neon MISMATCHED socks. Sigh! I feel your pain. Now, Lydia! That really is a lot of hair she has grown considering how little she had to start with! BEAUTIFUL BABY!!!!!

Wait. They out grow bows??? Good thing I am having another girl! It will be a sad day in this house when Grace tells me she doesn’t want to wear them!

Ah…the first ponytail. I so remember the first ponytail pics of Kaylin too!! Lydia will get there…more and more a little at a time! :) And for Ashlyn…well Kaylin has not always been one for bows to begin with….she actually put on a headband by herself we’d had for years for her and we all looked at each other like….”what happened that you’d put that on?” LOL!! Ya never know…she may come back to them again! :) Hugs momma!

You KNOW I love the first pony tail!! I cant wait until it’s TWO!! There’s nothing like getting those first piggies. I remember, our girl was the only one n our travel group with any hair – the rest were either too young, or had shaved heads..Mya being taken care of by New Day had never had a hair cut. Anyways, they chastised me about my amount of hair bows & pig tails in China :) That’s okay – she was cute!

And Ashlyn…????????? Oh, sweet girl. There are tons of cute headbands and clips. Etsy, here Kelly comes for some big girl accessories!

Hello

I overthink everything. This blog is a prime example. Make yourself a cup of coffee and sit down for a read. Actually, make that a pot of coffee. There’s a lot of overthinking here.
