This year, we had a gal from China teaching Chinese. We had some difficult conversations. On Emma’s birthday, we talked about Emma’s China mom and how I wondered how she felt on that day…and how – 2 months later – she left her. Ada cried for more reasons than I did. We had some powerful, painful, insightful conversations. She just left to return to China…I will miss those conversations…
and as Chris mentioned, it’s just hard to know how to approach this with our children in a truthful and respectful way…

i know this is reality…..how and when do i share this truth with my girls?
i mean, they ‘know’ that in China sons are needed/preferred. but this video? how can they ever begin to process this????
it’s hard for me to process.
it’s not like i will keep this truth from them. but still, i can’t even imagine how they will feel.

definitely praying for the women of China…..and for all of our daughter who will have to come to terms with this reality.
