New Year’s Eve {Drew’s Kindergarten Book}

8.29.11

Teeth have been brushed. Outfits are out, and shoes are begging to be worn. Lunches are made. Prayers have been sent up. Kisses have been given–the normal ole lip kind, butterfly kisses, and eskimo kisses. We got all the bases covered.

Because tomorrow is the first day of school.

It’s a big day for Evan — starting 4th grade. It’s a big day for Ashlyn — starting 2nd grade. And, it’s a super big day for Drew; he’s starting kindergarten.

And, when kids start kindergarten around here, they get a sappy mama and a pretty neat book as a reminder that they are loved. It may have taken some late nights, but Drew got his book. And, he got it today.

And, he loved it.
which I loved to watch.

    How very, very cool! Love that! :) Our kiddos start Wednesday and our little Madilyn is headed to Kindergarten. *snif* I thought she was just born yesterday, right? Sakes alive, they grow up too fast! :)

    What a great start to their school experience. What a great way to mark it all. And to stay motivated to document it all along the way :) The pressure of the book, looming with its deadline-iness :) Not that I’d ever actually need that. I’m just sayin’….. LOL!

    Happy first day, R gang…. We have a week to go. Thank goodness for that – I’m not ready in the least. For any of it. School supplies are still in list form. Sigh.

    You are such a good Mom, what a special book and tradition you have for the kids starting school. Fun stuff. Hope today went well!

    What a great idea! My husband and I are expecting our first child in October (a girl) and I think that it’s a great idea to create a book for your child when he/she starts kindergarten.

    What a great idea! And it’s not too late for me to do it. My oldest just started kindergarten. I have to try this. It would make him feel so special.

    What a cool tradition – I love it. I’m sure the kids enjoy it as well!

    You are such a special mom Kelly. You have such a beautiful family. I am adjusting to having 3 little ones… but am loving every minute. Just wanted to say hi… and you you know how special I thought the book was that you made. I hope to do the same for Josiah when he goes to school next year. Blessings to your family.

    You got it made! You are the best mom, ever!

Hello

I overthink everything. This blog is a prime example. Make yourself a cup of coffee and sit down for a read. Actually, make that a pot of coffee. There’s a lot of overthinking here.
