2 1/2 days

1.27.11

That’s how long my kids will have spent in school over the course of 3 weeks. Between two scheduled days off around MLK Jr. Day, 2 days of missed school from being totally sick (not just a little sick), an astounding number of snow days, and our Disney trip…which starts tomorrow…only 2 1/2 days of school in 3 weeks time. Oh, the adjustment back is going to be hard…but I’m not going to think about that now.

Right now, I’m a crazy lady.

While Mark did this early this morning due to 12+” of snow (sigh)…

and then headed off to try to get some work done,

I was trying to keep these monkeys busy (okay, I have been depending on the tv a bit more than usual today–though I’m happy to say legos are entertaining them right now)

so that I could do this….

PACK! Yes, there are outfits laid out for each child for each day that I am putting in ziploc bags and labeling so that mornings in Disney are as painless as possible so we can get out of the room and get to the fun! (There is something I simply enjoy about zipping ziplocs so that they are basically vacuum sealed…does that make me weird?)

Can’t forget some of the fun stuff I worked on last week while the kids were sick and sleeping 20 hours straight….

pillowcases for characters to sign…love how these came out…

I am totally digging these shirts I made for Evan and Drew…Disneyish but not over the top…well, maybe  a little over the top, but doesn’t scream Mickey…

My sister Erin got in on some craftiness and made these books for us too–It’s a blank journal made out of an old Golden book. How darling is that for picture drawing, journaling, passing the time at meals, etc. etc.
I’m pumped. Now back to packing.

Take good notes as we are traveling next fall to disney and I will need all the advice I can get! I do know a friend of mine bought disney souvieners (online and from the disney store) b/f she went so she told the kids when they got back to their room each night there would be a surprise on their bed – that kept them from begging at every souvienier store!

    Have a great time!

Glad to see the snow blower is still working. I think we are going to buy one. Norm says “yeah, if I get one it won’t snow anymore.” Sounds like a win-win situation to me. If it doesn’t snow we’re happy, if it snows, at least we won’t have to shovel!

The kids are going to have a hard time getting back into school mode. Hopefully you won’t return to more snow days! It will sure be nice to get someplace warm right now!

Hello

I overthink everything. This blog is a prime example. Make yourself a cup of coffee and sit down for a read. Actually, make that a pot of coffee. There’s a lot of overthinking here.
