4.25.10

While I cozied up in our tempurpedic mattress with a bowl of Ben & Jerry’s and an episode of 24 last night, Mark was with the kids outside in this–

Mark and the three older kids each had their own wing…in theory. Drew ended up sleeping with Mark in his wing and then woke up at 4:15 and said, “I’m going in.” The other three lasted until about 7:45 when Drew, Lydia, and I came out and crashed the party.

Yes, this was Evan’s idea. He saw something like it in a magazine and bugged me about it everyday until I went to an appliance store and got these boxes to do it. It was quite a scene with the kids in the car and me pulling boxes out of the dumpster trying to jam them into our van. I deserved the night in the tempurpedic.

They seriously slept in that? It’s a pretty cool fort to play in but I don’t think my kids would want to sleep in there. Fun stuff!

That is hilarious! Mark is a good sport! This post definitely needs to go in the keepsake so you can hang it over your kids heads when they are older! HA!

How old is Lydia, by the way? Naomi is 9.5 months old, and Lydia looks pretty close in age… :)

That’s great…I think every kid dreams of a camp-out in their own homemade box house! FUN stuff!! …and what a cool dad! :)

I think Martin would do the same thing, and like you, I’d opt to stay indoors and sleep smack in the middle of my TempurPedic, too… oh how I’m going to miss that mattress when I’m in China!!

    Hugs,
    Tanya

Well, that’s more like a mansion compared to what I imagined when you first told me about it! Did it go in the front yard or back yard? You could probably rent it out to the neighbor kids.

Haha…Mark is SUCH a good sport, and how in the world did you find time to go get boxes from the appliance store!!! What a memorable time this was, and glad they got their night in before the rain!!!

Hello

I overthink everything. This blog is a prime example. Make yourself a cup of coffee and sit down for a read. Actually, make that a pot of coffee. There’s a lot of overthinking here.
