24: are we crazy?

1.8.10

We’ve been sucked in by the commercials we’ve seen as of late for the 8th season of 24. Yup, the marketing got to us.

We watched season 1 and season 2 way back when. At the time, we were pregnant with Evan and then home with a newborn baby. Watching 24 on our deluxe 13″ tv was something we did as I sat on the couch nursing and Mark paced around with a fussy new baby. After season 2, we bailed on it not because it wasn’t good but because we didn’t want to be scheduling our life around a tv show (remember, those were pre-DVR days).
So, I am publicly announcing that I just bought used copies of season 3, season 4, and season 5. After we’ve gotten through all 18 discs or so (what in the world am I committing to?), we’ll get the next seasons and get all caught up.
I’m justifying it by thinking it will be great to take to China with us when we (eventually) travel to pick up our daughter.
Here’s to hoping 24 isn’t in season 24 by the time we catch up.

I never watched that, but here it is very good. Sort-of glad I didn’t get started, because then I would, as you say, be scheduling my evenings around a TV show. Our can’t miss show is LOST and I’m anxious for it to start up again.

Er, YES! LOL – I gave up, watched season 2 I think but it took up too much of my time. Think Dave still watches it but he can work and watch TV so can see it during the day. I cannot homeschool, entertain kids and do everything else that needs doing and watch TV, so I don’t have the time!

Good Luck, story lines are usually pretty engrossing I think!

Well, if you are crazy, so am I? Jeff and I made our way quickly through the first 3 seasons on DVD and were hooked…we now watch it when it comes on, but DVR it and watch it later so we can zip through commercials!

I want to start a series too on another show that is in season 4 (?) now, and I am afraid of how long it will take. I am getting them through Netflix.

Funny…I saw that commercial and said to Dan, “Is that show still on? My goodness–24 hours last a very long time in TV time.”

    You’re a nut.

Hey…bring on the referrals and show us Lydia’s face soon! I’m so prayin’ for you–LOTS!

Well, it’s not 24, but we got Seasons 1-3 of 30 Rock for Christmas, and we LOVE watching them together after the kids are in bed. We’re almost done them, so maybe we’ll have to try 24 next! :)

Hahahahaha! The Boss, Shaggy, and Dr. D have been working their way through the previous seasons since the summer (very, very slowly, too slowly according to the boys!). The Boss rarely has missed an episode since the very first episode of season 1 but with his memory, it’s like all new again :)

Currently, Shaggy has a countdown on his computer, ticking down the minutes till Sunday night ;)

Hello

I overthink everything. This blog is a prime example. Make yourself a cup of coffee and sit down for a read. Actually, make that a pot of coffee. There’s a lot of overthinking here.
