Highlights from our last week of summer….

Visited Longwood Gardens…now have a membership so we can go back for fall harvest events and beautiful Christmas displays. Love stuff like that.

Drew doesn’t pose for any pictures unless he’s a pirate.

We went to see a crazy, funny balloon/magic show and then went to Chick Fil A for dinner where the guy was making balloons for customers. We all were wondering how this lady managed to get the palm tree home. Wonder if she noticed the crazy camera lady (eh em….me) taking her picture.

And, of course, a sword for the pirate. Doesn’t he look sinister?

Ashlyn’s dog on a leash actually had black mini balloons inside clear balloons for the eyes. And, the guy made this thing in literally 45 seconds or something. Crazy.

Visited a cool local park with immense slides–check out Evan on the bottom level on the left.

We met our teachers–here’s Ash with her kindergarten teacher.

and Evan with his 2nd grade teacher.

Can’t forget our pet rocks we painted yesterday. Kids were totally into this project. Drew’s became “a mountain” instead of a pet.
A last-minute attempt to capture some summer swimming at the Y. Our membership this summer was well worth it.
Now, I’m off to whip up some fun dessert to “celebrate” the last day of summer and the start of school. Anticipate a sob-story post tomorrow about how my babies are growing up.

Wow..they are getting so big. We still have a week of Summer to go before we start school, but we are done with the shore. I will be so sad when these young years are over….I try not to let my mind go there! As usual, your kids are just simply adorable!

Looks like you had a fun-filled, eventful summer!! Ours went by so fast, too. I can’t believe the kids start school in a week. I’m not ready for them to go back quite yet! My 1st born goes to high school this year…where do the years go???!!!

    Have a blessed week!!

Wow! Ash looks so tall and lean in the picture with her balloon. I don’t know about Ashlyn, but Kaitlyn is totally excited to get on the bus and go to Kindergarten this afternoon. It’s helped me be less emotional, since Nathan was more apprehensive when he started. Summer did fly by! It’s ashamed we never got the girls together for a play date. I felt like we had very few free days that we didn’t have something planned. Oh well, maybe on some of the days off from school we can do it.

Hello

I overthink everything. This blog is a prime example. Make yourself a cup of coffee and sit down for a read. Actually, make that a pot of coffee. There’s a lot of overthinking here.
