prayer request: wordless days continue

4.3.09

I had an emergency visit today at my ENT’s office for my ear pain. He confirmed that I do have an ear infection and put me on two different antibiotics. He also examined my throat and told me that my right vocal fold has hemorrhaged. This means that I’m on vocal rest, only able to speak if absolutely necessary, at least until next Wednesday. And, it also means that my recovery just became much harder. I was originally told I’d be hoarse for 2 weeks and have my full voice restored in 4-6 weeks. Now, I am going to be hoarse for 6-12 weeks and may not have my full voice for up to 1 year. I am very discouraged by this news and am asking for prayers for this coming week and for my recovery.

UGH! Kelly, I’m so sorry, how discouraging is an understatement. I will be praying for you. Do you need anything/is there anything we can do to help? Let me know.

Ah…Kelly..remember they are doctors and they can only estimate recovery…God knows how quickly you can and will heal and you can count on him to have it all done in perfect timing! I can imagine you are very discouraged! I have said right along I don’t know how you do it! I will pray for you my friend….hang in there!

I have been without internet for a week, so I am trying to catch up in the blogging world.
I am so sorry about your throat.
How miserable you must feel! I guess you didn’t sing happy birthday to your 3 year old miracle. But he didn’t look as if he noticed.

    Kelly,
What a bummer that you had the setback. Oh, how I wish I could visit and encourage you as you did me. Please know that you’re in prayer for a sooner than anticipated recovery. I hope you’re not in pain. And I hope the ear infection clears quickly. Love, Petrie

Kelly – I was so sad to read your post tonight…..that must have been so scary and it sounds very painful. I am sure you are bummed right now, but please try to just get some rest and take it easy. Will keep you close in thoughts and prayers….love, Melissa

Oh I am so sorry. You and your family will definitely be in my prayers. I’ll be praying that God can use this difficulty for something amazing!

Thank you for leaving your card for LadyLL! It has been fun to watch our feedjit and see where everyone is from as they stop by to see our precious one.

What a fun month of birthday parties you all have had!

But, dear, I must say that i think having vocal chord surgery would be worse than the wait for China!

I’ll confess to sending a little wish your way that you would think more and more about SN. What a darling your friend’s daughter is! Wishing her and you a speedier than expected recovery.

    Thanks again for your note,
    Trena

Thinking of you Kelly, this has been a long road.

On the plus side, your kids may actually really listen to you well once you start talking as your voice will be such a novelty!

Hello

I overthink everything. This blog is a prime example. Make yourself a cup of coffee and sit down for a read. Actually, make that a pot of coffee. There’s a lot of overthinking here.
