- For me to desire to spend time with God rather than doing it to check it off my to-do list. And, for me to actually do it.
- For me to take full advantage of the time I have with my kids for the remainder of the summer–be intentional with my time with them so that I don’t have any regrets at the end of the summer.
- For Lydia’s ENT appointment tomorrow to go well and give clear answers about her failed hearing test.
UPDATE: Wanna make a mama cry? Put her baby in a papoose. :( Lydia got her ears cleaned out–lots of gunk in there. The right ear looks okay. The left ear still has fluid in there that shouldn’t be there. We will go back in September to see if that has dissipated. If it hasn’t, she will go on a round of antibiotics. If that doesn’t work, she will need tubes. We still don’t know the degree of hearing in her left ear and whether these interventions will improve her hearing or whether there is permanent damage from chronic fluid in there from untreated ear infections.
BTW, like my picture? My sister took that picture of my other sister. Pretty cool, huh? If anyone is interested in also posting Thursday’s Things to Pray For on their blog, let me know. I’m thinking I’ll make that picture into a button, and we can all link up and lift each other up!

Good Post. I know how you feel. My summer vacation is almost over and I feel as though I am just hurrying from one thing to the next and not really enjoying. Good luck with the ENT. We just discovered Caroline has a lactose issue. She can have dairy but it has to be limited or she gets sick.

I love the idea of having a day online for prayer.
I am going to add this to our blog today – I just have to narrow down my prayer list.
And you will be in our prayers to day.

Great post Kelly. Let us know how it goes with Lydia.

Oh Kelly! Prayin’ here for you–as always! Remember–God is in ALL things and only He knows the beauty, joy and trials that will unfold. But in all of it–joy and trials–it is miraculous!
God knows your heart Kelly–you open your heart, soul, ears, eyes and nose (all your senses) to Him freely. He is with you–He knows your ups and downs–and even in the downs–He knows your heart is pure, even if your physical self is scattered and disjointed.
Ahhhh…living in the moment–a challenge I too am facing this summer. Outside stresors
always cloud our way.
Hang in there.

Intentionality…that’s such an important thing. :)
Will be eager to hear how Lydia’s appt. goes.

Kelly,
Parker just failed his hearing test today. We were at the hospital for five hours for Sophia and Parker’s palate team meetings. Parker has fluid built up behind his eardrums and the ENT said that having tubes put in his ears will make his hearing normal. Sophia failed many hearing tests in the past two years and her ears were perfect today! Sometimes it is just the mood the child is in that causes the test to show a failed result. Sophia would have to go back and the next test was normal. I will say a little prayer for your little sweetie!

Kelly, I’m praying for you. Keep us updated on what they say about Lydia. I also want to know all about your time with your kiddos and what the Lord teaches you through all of this, so you better post. Ya hear!
Or I may be forced to make that insanely long trip to come find out for myself. :)

I pray that you get easy news about Miss Lydia’s ears. Keep us faithful readers posted. :)
Got the necklaces yesterday. (just got back in town). WE LOVE THEM. Oh my goodness. It’s 3 generations of us…so sweet. My mom loved her necklace, too. I wore it to my cheer gym tonight and everyone commented on it. They are all just beautiful. Ava just may never take her’s off. I’ll have to send you some pics.

Please keep me posted on the hearing issues for Lydia… Did you go to CHOP? What ENT did you see? If you have any questions about it all or if you need to talk about what is going on in all the tests and the “wait and see” I’m here for ya! We LOVE the CHOP audiology/ent group and are so grateful for all the education and information they have shared since we brought Li’l E home…
Praying. . . and I might join in on the Thursday pray thing – that’s a great idea. And I got lots to pray about!

Gosh, reading this post made me feel SO out of the loop. It’s a good thing that my computer and I aren’t spending so much time together, but then I miss stuff!
LOVE this idea. Once I can get my act together….I’m IN. :) Say, Christmas??? ;)
#1 is hard for me too!!!! I need to get into a study. I’m thinking of getting Beth Moore’s Esther study and doing it on my own! Unless you’d care to join me and we can keep each other accountable??? :)
I’ll be praying for Lydia’s hearing and her ears- poor baby! Hopefully, if tubes are necessary, they will do the trick and she’ll be hearing just fine!
